The one season to document.

Alright.  I have had this blog for about three & half years.  I have been great keeping up with it until my senior year of college came.  & since December 1st (the biggest day of my life)... I have blogged TWICE!  That is ridiculous because right now is the sweetest point in my life so far.  This part, right here, right now is what I want to capture more than any other.  Although my plate is completely full, I want to do this.  This is not a chore.  It is a creative outlet & an opportunity to embrace this rich & joyful season I have right now.

With all of that being said.  I plan on blogging weekly.  Not just about wedding stuff & future stuff, but college stuff too.  Seriously, I almost cry every Tuesday & Thursday morning on my way to class.  It is beautiful view of the NCSU campus & it is a scary reminder of how fast these next four months are gonna go.  Four more months in this exciting & lovely city, living with 3 of my best friends.   So I gotta embrace each day.  Each second.  Each coffee date.  Each grueling test.  All of it.  Hold me accountable... please?

For all things wedding - I am starting a series that will continue past the actual wedding day because I want to document this whole process: from dress to details, wedding party to venue, music to flowers.  Also, I see so much perk in this because I can use pictures from the wedding!  I am kicking off my wedding series tomorrow afternoon with the story of how I bought my dress.  Of course, I will not tell you about the details of the actual dress but the story behind how this dress is now hanging up in my house right now is pretty crazy (praise you Mama).

For now,  the best entertainment I can give you is pictures of our more southern engagement session with my sister back at home (click here & here to see our RDU shoot with Jenny Lynn).  This pictures are real sweet as they were shot in our home town, some on Colby's dad's hunting land & some with my grandpa's army Jeep.

The one post engagement.

It is exactly 3 weeks post engagement & I am still in shock.  Catching a glimpse of my shiny new ring is a humbling experience.  When I look back at the concept of the proposal, I fall in love with Colby Scott even more.  This man got on his knee to ask me if it was okay to spend forever together.

Good gracious, be still my heart.

Since the December 1st, a couple things have gone down..
Sam & I have picked out a couple wedding details, such as our wedding party, venue & color scheme.
Sam & I have checked another thing off his wonderful Winter Bucket List.

Sam & I have taken a couple pictures with his sister, Jenny, at RDU.  We will take some more with my sister, back at home soon!  Here are some of my favorites Jenny took.

But for now, I am taking a break from wedding planning.  For the next few days, I want my focus to be on Jesus and my family.  Merry Christmas, y'all!

The blondes.

So there are these two little dudes that completely stolen my heart. I have mentioned my love for them here, here & here... oh & here & here.  Im sure there are others.. but you get the point - I adore my blondes.  They have become such a huge part of my life here in Raleigh.  Both ways the door swings, in that we all have invested so much time and emotion into getting to know each other.  I know their hearts and what a joy I find in that.  These hearts that are honest, vulnerable, loving, caring yet carefree.  These hearts that also know my own.  We pray together, play ninja and football together, sing together, eat together, eat unheard of amounts of ice cream together.  I really can't explain the fullness of my heart when I am with these boys.

Okay, my throat has a knot in it.. let's move on.

For Christmas, I wanted to order a canvas of the boys for their mama. (PS I don't know how big/small the blogosphere is.. know if you know these fine people, don't tell Kelly her Christmas gift from the boys!)  So today, my roomie, Liza - who also keeps Will once a week, and I had a mini-photoshoot with John & Will.  Here is a sneak peek of the goodness we captured today.

Merry Christmas, Kelly.

The one for Sydney.

My sweet, sweet Sydney.  What a special love I have for this girl.  I'll keep the sappiness between me and her, but I will tell you that this girl is special.  She loves the Lord.  She is an incredible friend.  She loves coffee.  She is so cool.. sometimes it makes me sick.  Her style is fun.  She's crazy adventurous.  She eno's.  She is incredibly beautiful, inside & out.

I adore her.

Also, this photo shoot was way cool because she planned it.  She took me around her sweet, small town and planned everything.  Outfits, locations, poses.  Homegirl wanted to make this personal as it is a special time in her time and I love the pictures a million times more for that.

Here is a sneak peek for my dear friend, Sydney.

All the pictures will be on FB later, Syd.  Thanks so so so much for an incredible Sunday night.  You are so beautiful, Sydney.  I love you more than I could ever tell you.  You'll always be my girl.

The one for Sara Lee.

I had such a good Labor Day weekend at home.  Post coming soon!  One thing I did was meet up with this sweet girl early Saturday morning to snap a couple pictures.  We had such a great time & she was such a trooper for being willing to get up so early on her one day to sleep in!

Thank you, Sara,  for such a fun morning in the early morning dew.

The one for Sydney's sneak peak.

Fortunately, I have had a great weather run with taking pictures.  The weather has always been cooperative.   Not last week.  As soon as Sydney & I got out on the side of the road to our first location.. it started to sprinkle.  Not a big deal, we rolled with it.  On the way to the second location, it poured.  We just sat in the car && waited it out.  It would pour, sprinkle, pour, sprinkle.  Although, I was stressing a little about losing the light since it was around 7 pm, it was such a blessing.  Sydney & I had great conversation while waiting for the rain to pass.  We talked about college, relationships, our families and everything in between.   Getting to know Sydney was a sweet experience & therefore, I am thankful for the rain.

Thanks Sydney for fun Friday night.  You're simply beautiful.
