the one about new words.

In my Cognitive Psych class yesterday, we started talking about language.
Eventually, we got on the tangent of new words added to the dictionary since 2006 & I was amazeddd of what we have added to our English language.

So I thought I would share a few.

sole patch: a small growth of beard under a man's lower lip

drama queen: a person given to often excessively emotional performances or reactions.

crunk:  a style of Southern rap music featuring repetitive chants and rapid dance rhythms
(this is funny too: ORIGIN of the word, crunk:: word of fluctuating meaning used during the 1990s in lyrics of the rap groups OutKast and Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz
First Known Use: 2000)

unibrow:  a single continuous brow resulting from the growing together of eyebrows

ginormous: : extremely large.
& if I remember correctly, I used to get in trouble for saying this word (because it was clearly.. ahem not a word)

& my personal favorite...

mouse potato : a person who spends a great deal of time using a computer.

Isn't it amazing what we have acquired in our English language?
Ahhh, I got a kick out of these & I thought you might too!
