the one on saturday.

At Joby's Bed & Breakfast (aka. the Raleigh House), I am the early bird.  I love getting up to a quiet house with the sun peering through the drapes, the smell of freshly ground coffee beans, and the sound of the wood floors creeping as you walk across the living room.  I love it.  This past Saturday started off on an incredible foot.  I slept a little later than usual.. although still the first one up.  I lit a candle & made some coffee.

I ate some breakfast & spend some time with Jesus.

Then one by one.. my roommates came out of hibernation & followed the same Saturday morning routine:  coffee & quiet moments with Jesus.

It's such a wonderful thing to live in a house of believers.  They are daily encouragements in my walk with the Lord.  They hold me accountable and I am forever grateful for their friendship.  Love you ladies!

So Saturday started off exceptionally well.  && then off to the NCSU vs. Clemson game.

Sam in a corn hole tournament...

The Wolfpack did work.  :)

At half time.. I sadly had to drag Sam away from the game because of an important purchase I bought a couple weeks ago.  Sam was a trooper && was happy to go with me.  So, we fled off to Chapel Hill to catch up with a close friend from high school && watch my beloved Clef Hangers perform.

I love them.  The whole concert I was smiling.

It was such a good Saturday.  :)  I hope you had just as lovely of a  weekend!
Yay for Thanksgiving break.. headed home tonight!!  Surry County, here I come.

I am currently...

sad to see my precious carved pumpkin has turned into mush
underneath a pretty pile of leaves...

anticipating the premiere of Twilight tonight.. but even more so to spend some time at home over Thanksgiving break next week!

insanely proud that my little brother gained the accolades of all-conference & best defensive player this week!

pumped to reunite with my buddy ol' pal from Chapel Hill to watch our boys this weekend...

listening to nothing but beach music since we learned how to
shag in my social dance class...

watching Twilight: Eclipse to remind of the story line for tonight's big show.
eating a crescent roll.
craving a cup of spiced cidar.
getting sleepy.
now debating a quick nap.

Happy Thursday night!

the one where...

It's a hard week and a half ahead of me.. but Im ready to take it on!  Im coming off a very restful weekend at home.. where we shagged outside while grilling (& forgetting about the burning mushrooms inside)... where fires were built & homemade chicken n' dumplins were served.. where we watched movies in our pj's & tried a new breakfast recipe.

&& where we witnessed the golden light of the sun hit soy bean fields so gloriously.

&& right now I am obsessed with the music of Ray LaMontagne... so go youtube or pandora him or something.  His music is perfect for this fall weather.  He is part of the recipe for a happy, productive Monday.

the one team carolina can't beat.

Im a morning person.  I love to tailgate.  But the two mixed together in November calls for a windy, cold morning with luke warm coffee and food. :( It was fun, don't get me wrong.. but it was cold.  I was telling everyone..
"if the game is gonna be like this -- Im leaving at half time at the latest!"

Turns out.. the weather during the game was warm (ended up taking off my jacket & gloves) &&&&
Carolina tried (& failed) to beat the Wolfpack.

I'll take 5 years in a row for $200, Alex.

Happy Sunday!

the one with acapella queen.

I know it is not iTunes Tuesday.. but I wanted to share because it is wonderful.

First know, I love all things acapella. Second, Im a huge fan of Queen.  So when the two things mix together, I am a happy, happy girl.

My favorite group on the Sing Off is the Dartmouth Aires -- & last week they did a Queen Melody...
ahhhhh.  Perfect combos everywhere! :)

P.S.  if you are in Raleigh today.. get your butt outside.. it's GORGEOUS!

the one for #11.

So, I call my brother "cutie".  It's a strange pet name for a little brother.. but over the past couple years he has really started to develop into a pretty boy who walks with a lot of confidence and has a sly way of gaining your respect.  Homeboy knows how to work the system, that is for sure.  My sister and I always joke that Ryan has our mom wrapped about his finger.  Baby boy, can do NO wrong in the eyes of my mother.  [insert my rolling eyes]

But yeah, so the name "cutie" fits him.  I seriously think my brother is so, so cute.  Anyway, I am going on about 3 different tangents, this post is about Cutie's football senior night.  It was pouring the rain, freezing cold night filled with warm, sweet moments of making memories last.  Before his last game on his home field there was brief presentation of all the seniors & their parents.

There were definitely some sweet moments in the mix.

The newest and easily my favorite tradition the football team does is walk down the stairs at the entrance.. and walk across the home bleachers.  I don't know why I love it so much..  but it just screams "thanks for coming, we'll make you proud"

Did I mention it was freezing & raining?

But overall, Cutie did good.  No surprise there.

&& even though it is bittersweet moments of hanging up the cleats, I am ready to see home boy do work on the basketball court.  :)

Good luck in your very last game tonight, Ryan!  Soak up every last second and have no regrets when you walk off that field tonight!  Im proud of you and I love you very much!
