I have loved my experience living on campus. It's been incredible & if I had to do it over again, I'd do it the exact same way. I know that I would not have near the amount of friends I have if I jumped off campus after my first year. Freshman year was about meeting people and sophomore year was about really getting to know these people and start building real relationships.
So I decided to create a pros & cons list of living in a dorm for two years.
Cons:
- shower shoes.
- washing dishes in sink that I brush my teeth in.
- not having your very own space.
-decorations are limited.
- can't cook what you want.
- loud.
- tiny showers.
Pros:
- being super close to classes.
- don't have to cook your own food.
- cleaning responsibility cut into half.
- daily surrounded by a tons of friends.
-easy to meet up with people.
-super easy to really get to know people.
-don't have to clean the bathroom.
- always able to borrow/take items from suitemates when in need
(razors, mascara, earrings to match your new cardigan, etc.)
Again, I have absolutely loved living on campus this past two years. But now that I've had my great experiences.. Im ready. Im ready to make the move. First, let me introduce my future roomies: Jen, Liza & Sarah.
Yesterday, we met up at Starbuck's with our realtor to SIGN OUR LEASE!! We are moving into this cute little house off campus - && we are stoked!
We felt like big girls signing a lease and going over rules & regs of renting a home. We are excited to start living together. We even talked about which rooms we all want yesterday and it was amazing because we all wanted different rooms.. so it just completely fell into place.
Im excited to get my twice new on this summer to create a vintage-esque bedroom!
I'll keep ya posted! :)
excitinggg.
