I take a lot of things for granted. My insanely comfortable bed, hot showers, a pair of shoes that reveals no holes. I take simply things like food for granted because sometimes I get blinded by my blessings. I tend to form them into expectations, rather than accepting them as gifts. Sometimes I forget that food is a gift.
On some random Wednesdays, our local church has free community meals where anybody in the community can come in for a hot meal. It is a great time for delicious food & wholesome fellowship. This past Wednesday, the college age Sunday School was in charge of the community meal.
Since most of us have jobs, go to school, or just busy with summer plans, we decided to prepare majority of our meal the night before (considering the meal starts at 5:30!). Please ignore the quality of these pictures, I didn't put much effort into fixing the light && I didn't edit them! Oops! Sorry folks!
The night of the community was hectic as we scurried to find all these crock pots, pitchers for lemonade, more sloppy joe sauce, gloves, more desserts. But overall it was a really fun time serving our community & our church.
I love this scripture.
I am very grateful for the experience I shared with these wonderful people this past Wednesday. As a whole, I pray that we accomplished our goal of extending God's love through the gift of food.
Sweet. This is so pleasing to HIM.
