the one in the country.

The other day I went to my neighbor's house to drop off some of their tupperware that they had left at our house.  My neighbors who live right across a tobacco field happen to be my grandparents.

When I was there, I could not stop laughing.  We were sitting in their living room, while watching the news and just catching up.  We talked about everything and nothing.. &&  my grandpa said the most odd, country & hilarious things!

A few examples:

- I would bet my old work boots out there that...
- I don't know what acclimated is, but I don't want it...
- Imma jerk a knot in them squirrels, they cut a gas line in my jeep... again.
- what's a password & why do I need one?

My grandpa is one of the funniest but one of the most hard working people I know.  Every, single day we walks up & down the road cleaning up the sides of the road.  He works in his garden every. single. day.  He takes care of mowing & entertaining the crowd at a local sandwich shop.  I believe his wrinkles are lines of experience and wisdom.

When visiting my grandparents (on both sides) I just fall in love with the place I call home.  I love the country.  It's gorgeous and welcoming.  I come home to things like...

... gorgeous horses.

... patches of dirt within the yard.

... a hammock.

... old, rusty things...

... like a bike that used to be one of my sister's first bikes (notice pink).. turned into one of my brother's first bikes (notice blue).

... then running into my mom's favorite living creature (who needs a hair cut & dog braces)..

.. then you'll look over towards the garage and see the gorgeous Pilot Mountain peeking over the side of it.

... or old rope tied aimlessly around the pasture posts...

My parents have always thought I was a city girl.. which I definitely am.  But I just love coming home to old barns, fields of tobacco, pastures, ponds, and leaving those bold pieces of architecture behind.  Although, I do love my cities.. I would like to declare myself a vintage girl.  I could do vintage over cities all day.  Speaking of vintage.. I had an eventful weekend.. which included softball, and antique shopping.  Post soon! :)
