the one on the big boat, day one.

 Over the course of 5 days, my sweet friends & I manage to take over a thousand pictures.  What the world?!  Granted, a lot of them are of Courtney & Colby, now Colby & Sarah, now Sarah & Kyle...etc.  Anyways, I decided I would break the posts up by days && here we are at day one.

Wait, let's go before day one.  Day zero.. after everyone got out of class we quickly packed our bags and headed 10 hours on South 95.  Once we landed in sweaty Florida, we crashed at one the group's grandma's retirement home..  let me just add, I could have vacationed in that house alone.  It was incredible.  But anyways, DAY ONE.. we got up early, had a nice breakfast at Denny's and then headed into the wild blue yonder.

 && found this waiting for us.

 obviously not the whole ship.

Then for the next hour or so, we tried to get our sea legs under way by walking around && figuring out what all this big ol' boat had to offer.

We were most definitely excited to realize we had a lot of options for spending a couple days at sea!  Then later that night, we got cozy in our tiny little cabins to get ready for a delicious supper.

A supper where Sam & I order duck and escargot.

 && amazing lasagna and tilapia

 && you know Sam & I love that cup of joe.. we were thrilled to have it offered after the main course, every night!

 P.S. I've always been partial to places that serve their creamer in tiny pitchers! :)

 Whenever we got back to the room after supper, there was always a different animal to greet us!

But after supper was the thriving hour for a lot of people on the ship. But for us, we hung low.  Sitting on the decks, talking, absorbing salty air.

Day one was a complete success.  In hindsight, we really didn't do that much on the first day.. but I remember vividly how exhausted I was.  Maybe I was just overwhelmed by the size of the boat, or nerves of getting sea sick were laying heavy on my mind.. I don't know.

Overall, it was a good day.
 Stay tuned for Day Two.
