It's been a tough week.
My parents know this full well.
Yesterday, I had a terrible, terrible day. & they both were there for me, providing me with support and advice. Yesterday, when I called them hysterical, because I was overwhelmed with stress & frustration, they both said the same thing. You need to start tonight having fun this weekend. I was like heck no, I have 3 exams early next week, I don't have time. Regardless, they insisted that I smile a little tonight, and every other night this weekend. I took their advice, because.. well ya know.. they're my parents and they somehow always seem to be right.
So I went to Sam's intramural basketball game.
It's a bunch a boys from back home plus Sam's roommate for next year (aka Bradley). & it was a blast! The team is named [336]. I got a kick out of that.. and anyone from back home would too.
[336] won by like forty points.
It was obvious that they were having a lot of fun, and I couldn't help but smile.
please ignore how gross and awful I look.. like I said terrible, terrible day with lots of tears.
Also, Sarah (Bradley's girlfriend) and I couldn't help but to notice that those boys should be sponsored by Nike. Everything but maybe one pair of socks wasn't Nike. It was too funny.
Jordan & Adidas didn't have a shot.
So now that I had my fun, back to the world of education. I had a another chemistry date with my frandddd, Rachel. But we decided to spice up (or should I say sweeten up!?) the date a little bit... with Gigi's Scarlett's Red Velvet cupcake.
We split the cupcake, dug into the world of ideal gas laws and enthalpy, and headed back to watch one episode of Grey's Anatomy. A good end to what started out as an awful day.
The 'rents were right. It was exactly what I needed.
More smiles (& cupcakes!) meshed into the hours of book worming on stressful exam weeks.
Oh I'm so sorry it's a rough time. Glad your parents gave you that advice. Sometimes you need a distraction....and what better distraction than Sam??!!
ReplyDeleteI hate you had such an awful day yesterday!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm glad mom and dad told you to go have a little fun somewhere away from the distractions of school work and applications.
I love you & I hope today is a better day!!!
i love you.....tears and all. Glad you have decided that the only way to combat tests, homework, and stress.....have some fun along the way. You have to take a break....from the madness....and be a college kid....the other part of being a college kid that doesnt have anything to do with studying or doing homework!
